Co-Founder, President & Trustee

Mary Ann Hille

Mary Ann Hille grew up in Tulsa, graduated from Edison High School and attended Oklahoma University where she was a member and officer of Delta Gamma. She met her husband Jo Bob there and later completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Tulsa. She went on to receive a master’s degree in human relations from the University Center at Tulsa, graduating magna cum laude. She worked as a high school and elementary school teacher, a case manager, and as a volunteer for many positions on PTA boards, church groups, and community service agencies, and presently serves as the President and Trustee of the Hille Foundation.

Mary Ann has served on the boards of Iron Gate, St. Simeon’s Episcopal Home, The First Tee, the Women’s Leadership Council of the United Way, Crosstown Learning Center, Lindsey House, Tulsa Community College Foundation, YWCA Tulsa and Inverness Advisory Boards.
She is an ordained Presbyterian Elder, a Stephen Minister caregiver, and a grandmother to seven grandchildren.

Executive Director & Trustee

Maggie Yar

Maggie is the Co-Trustee and the Executive Director of the Hille Foundation. She is the youngest daughter of the Hille Foundation’s co-founders, Jo Bob and Mary Ann Hille. Maggie is a life-long Tulsan and a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University. She worked in non-profit positions and practiced law in Dallas in the area of commercial litigation before taking on the role of Executive Director of the Foundation.

Maggie is currently serving on the board of Greenwood Rising, Booker T. Washington High School Foundation, Revitalize T-Town and the Foundation for Tulsa Schools. On each of these boards she holds or has held numerous positions including, Board Chair, Development Committee Co-Chair Grants Committee Co-Chair, and Secretary. She has served as an officer and/or board member of a number of other area non-profits including; Carver Middle School Foundation, the OU-Tulsa Advisory Board, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Crosstown Learning Center, Saint Simeon’s Foundation, the YWCA of Tulsa, Eisenhower International School Foundation, and the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center.

Maggie and her husband, Kajeer Yar, have three teenage children.

Grants Manager & Board Member

Shirley Martin

The niece of Jo Bob and Mary Ann Hille, Shirley has served as a Board Member and Grants Manager since 2004. Shirley grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and remains a life-long KC Chiefs fan. She attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

Until recently Shirley served as Board President of Bit-by-Bit Therapeutic Riding Program and has volunteered in numerous capacities for that organization since 2005. She has also served as a board or committee member of a number of other area non-profits including; Tulsa Girls Art School, YWCA, the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges and the TPD Mounted Patrol Unit adoption program in Tulsa and held various volunteer, officer, committee and board appointments in the north Texas area before coming to Tulsa.

Shirley lives in Tulsa and has a son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.

Report Officer & Board Member

Leslie Hamrick

The eldest daughter of Jo Bob and Mary Ann Hille, Leslie has been a Board member since the Foundation’s inception in 1997 and joined the staff as a Grant Report Officer in 2002. She earned a BA from the University of Kansas in 1991 and an MA in art therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1993.

After practicing art therapy for several years, Leslie settled into volunteering as she and her husband raised their children in Augusta, GA. Having served on Boards, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach forums Leslie has recently returned to her own art making- exhibiting in GA, SC, VA, NY, and Listowel, Ireland. She is a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists. Leslie and her husband, Mark have relocated to Tulsa, OK and look forward to becoming involved in the Tulsa community.

Report Officer & Board Member

Sheila Lequerica

The middle daughter of Jo Bob and Mary Ann Hille, Sheila has been a Board Member of the Hille Foundation since its inception in 1997 and has served in her position as a Grant Report Officer since 2002. Sheila earned her Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in 1995 where she played on the Women’s Polo team taking them to numerous championship matches.

Sheila has served as a community volunteer and fundraiser for the Brookwood Community, her church and in various capacities at Faith Academy in Bellville, Texas. Sheila offices out of her home in Sealy, Texas, where she and her husband, CJ, own and operate a polo pony training ranch. Sheila is a professional horse trainer and polo player. Sheila and CJ have two children.

Office Manager

Renee’ S. Smith

Renee’ S. Smith is the Office Manager who has worked with the Hille Foundation since 2009. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Family Relations and Child Development. She worked in various teaching positions before coming to the Hille Foundation.

Renee’ lives in Tulsa and spends her free time hanging out with family and volunteering for the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program as a driver as well as The Lydia Project.

Personal satisfaction and making a difference in people’s lives are a few reasons why Renee’ enjoys working at the Hille Foundation.

The Hille Foundation accepts grants by invitation only.  If invited to apply, organizations will be contacted by Hille Foundation with instructions.
